Melissa began working with Pretty Good Friends in 2022, just as PGF Records was launching.
She has edited five albums with the label and co-produced one, Bobcat Goldthwait: Soldier for Christ.
Paste Magazine listed two of these albums on their “Best Comedy Albums of 2023” list.
In addition her comedy album work, Melissa has also edited video specials including The Jo Firecast and social media videos for the podcast Parenting Is A Joke with Ophira Eisenberg.
Jon Glaser’s
Soothing Meditations for the Solitary Dog
In addition to editing the performances in this high-concept narrative album, Melissa had the opportunity to design elaborate soundscapes to immerse the listener into the world that comedian Jon Glaser takes his audience.
Working closely on the edit with Glaser, Melissa helped bring to life the bizarre story of one man trying to comfort some dogs while the world works tirelessly against him.
Paste Magazine called Soothing Meditations for the Solitary Dog one of the Best Comedy Albums of 2023.
Clare O’Kane
Everything I Know How to Do
In this collaboration with Clare O’Kane, Melissa created this lively and hilarious comedy album filled to the brim with gnarly, weird, hyper-personal anecdotes. Compiling the best bits from three separate performances, this album is a testament to Melissa’s audio editing expertise in the ways that it highlights Clare’s unique comedian timing and rythyms.

A Close Shave with Heaven
Collaborating with the comedian and poet Derrick Brown, Melissa edited his moving performance of wistfully delivered one-liners, silly personal vignettes, and poetry that is both rife with evocative language and irreverent humor.

Soldier for Christ
The first comedy album Melissa ever edited, she pored over seven-hours of various recordings, each containing different stories and jokes. Working closely with Bobcat Goldthwait, Melissa helped craft a 50-minute original set by pulling the strongest material and weaving it into a new narrative that reveals a hysterical, yet more intimate side of this 80s comedy legend.

Combining the format of Monday Night Football’s ManningCast and the calm joy of the holiday yule log videos we all watch at Christmas time, The Jo Firecast is a hilarious watch-along of roaring fireplaces around the globe, starring comedian Jo Firestone and specials guests.
Yule Log Jamz, the audio-only version of these cracking fires, was released as a digital download.
